This is the worst of the internet providers I have ever had. I decided to get their fastest service of 300Mbps /10 Mbps because the price was quite good and I work from home. I gave them nearly 2 weeks advance notice for installation before I was to cancel my other service. They told me though I paid for installation, they would activate me remotely. I told them this was impossible since I had NO CABLE LINES installed. They kept arguing with me till I told them to cancel. I got an email that ok they would schedule the installation which I had paid for in advance along with a charge for the modem being shipped to me. I asked why the internet installer guy could not bring it . They said it did not work that way as they subcontracted. So i prepaid $180. On the day of the installation the tech showed up with 1 -10" piece of cable that barely reached the room where the modem was to be installed. When I asked him to connect the modem he said he did not work for vmedia and did not do the installation. He was only there to activate the line and I was lucky I was getting a cable. So in actuality only activation of the line occurred, not installation that I was billed for. The technician said the line was live and left. I had just come out of hospital 2 days before so I could not install the modem myself. I called vmedia tech support and they wanted me to bend and lok at lights and connect things. I could not so I paid $50 to a cable tech that lives in my building to help me. H got online with vmedia support and after the modem was supposedly properly installed iwas getting 36 bits download and 10 MBPS upload. The tech said it sometimes takes 24 hhours for the modem to cycle. I phoned vmedia again because I was getting service, i was connected just with no download speed. The 2nd vmedia support person went through all the motions and said the same thing. Now I work from home so I was losing up to $450/day as I am in the legal profession. The next day after 24 hours I still had the same problem, the new tech support person wanted me to redo all the steps so another friend of mine who is a computer programmer got on the phone with vmedia support and the tech could not resolve the issue.vmedia said it was the fault of Eastlink the company that they leased the line from. I called Eastlink and they checked and said nope you were activated when the tech went over and tested tech service its vmedia's fault. I called tech support and they said they would schedule a service call for sometime in the future. I said I already lost money and they told me it would be running by now so I wanted a tech today. They said that was impossible. I told the tech to simply transfer me to customer service to cancel my service. They offered me 2 months free service but I cannot afford to lose $450/day. The customer service person told me that they would send me a self-addressed label to return the modem and I would be refunded the rest of my money. I received a refund of $106, and they sent me an email stating I was going to have to pay $45 restocking fee, money for 2 days of service which I never received, installation that never really occurred and was being charged rental on the box until I return it. I am still waiting for the mailing label and bag. i will be launching a complaint with The Ontario Consumer Protection Agency and if not resolved I will probably be taking them to small claims court for lost wages. I was more than willing to let it go with full cash refund as promised but it seems that customer service lies. Tech support was incompetent but at least they tried.

Beware of these guys, They accepted my payment, and I cancelled my old internet and bought a modem, and after they told me I cant get their service and just said sorry after paid for a modem and lost old provider. They didn't care

Worst company ever!

They did an overnight server upgrade and I had no internet the next morning. As I use VoIP for telephone and have no cellphone I had to go to a Tim Horton to email them. Although I explained the situation and did all testings possible (tried on 3 computers, wired and wirelessly, checked the physical cable on all its length, even hooked modem on demarc -outside cable box- ) they never tried helping saying I had to call from home (!!!) to go through the basic checks with them (which I had done even more) !!! Kept going almost every day to Tim Horton to send them emails for 18 days and they never did anything. I even complained to CCTS but it did nothing as CCTS only can see if they follow their own guidelines (which can be full of bullshit for customers). My only solution was to switch provider. So I paid a full month, had no internet for one month before being hooked with a new provider and they refunded me only $18,00 but charged me a restocking fee of $25,00 + tax to send them back their modem. STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

When i was looking for the cheapest connection their cheapest option answered my needs, even if i frequently had some dropped connections . Now that I need more speed, after 5 years, I asked if they had any specials they could provide as I upgraded my speed. They had small discounts, but i think there are others out there that can provide a good deal for your money
